Complejo Lagunar Ejido Nuevo Special Protection Area (SPA) for Birds

The Complejo Lagunar Ejido Nuevo Special Protection Area for Birds is made up of four ponds in the northeast of Cáceres province, in Navalmoral de la Mata.

This in-land water area is home to some unusual wildlife, some of which is endangered. These includes birds such as the Ferruginous Duck, which shares its habitat with a more common species of reptile: the Mediterranean pond terrapin.
