Because of its structure and origin, this oil mill was often confused with a convent
In Torre de Miguel Sesmero, in the province of Badajoz, on the side of the road to Nogales, you will find this splendid example of an oil press, the construction of which was ordered by bishop Merino Malaguilla in the early 18th century. It can be recognised by the peculiar tower that rises up from the mill's vane, and because you can see the blazon of the Chaves family on the doorway.
