The city of Mérida holds this film festival every year.
The Festival de Cine Inédito (Festival of New Films) is one of the most important cultural events in Mérida and takes place in Cines Victoria and Centro Cultural Santo Domingo.
It is a great chance to see social films, films by young directors and filmmakers from Extremadura whose films have not been seen in Spanish cinemas yet. The festival includes a long list of Spanish and foreign films.
The MIRADAS awards ceremony is one of the most important parts of the event. The awards are given to institutions and people to acknowledge their work promoting films from Extremadura.
