Reservoirs are the main feature of this natural space.
Located in the province of Badajoz, between Mérida and Aljucén, lie these wetlands that are home to many species of aquatic fauna of great international importance. The most notable is probably the endangered black stork. They tend to come here after breeding, when large numbers can be seen.
Other protected species that inhabit this protected area include otters and Mediterranean pond terrapins, a semi-aquatic reptile that is native to the Iberian Peninsula. -
